Sceneca Residence, a new mixed-used development next to Tanah Merah MRT station, is a collaboration between MCC Land, The Place Holdings, a Chinese developer listed on the Singapore Exchange and Ekovest Development. Each has a stake of 51%, 20%, and 29%, respectively.
MCC Land won this plot of land at Tanah Merah Kechil Link during a government land sale (GLS) exercise in November 2020 for $248.99 million, which will translates to $930 per square foot as per plot ratio. It can accommodate 268 exclusive residential units and a commercial podium of 21,528 square feet on level one.
MCC Singapore is an MCC Group wholly-owned subsidiary (China Metallurgical Group Corporation). It was founded in Singapore more than two decades ago and is in charge of conducting real estate-related business activities in the city-state.
MCC Singapore now provides a wide range of expertise, including property development and manangement, urban planning, steel structure engineering contracting and foundation and construction engineering. All one-bedroom units, ranging in size from 463 to 538 square feet, along with the 2-bedroom and 2+Study, were sold on the first day. Singaporeans constituted 88.5% of the buyers, with the remaining 11.5% being permanent residents and foreigners.
